Review on RK ROYAL KLUDGE Hot Swappable Stand Alone by Doug Hammett

Fantastic Budget Mechanical

Just wanted to delve into mechanical keyboards and this really fits the bill. Feels solid, light weight, non-slip, BT works well, detachable USB-C to USB-A adapter that comes with is quite nice and long, even the lighting has a lot of options that I hadn't thought of. I like it. Brown switches were exactly what I was looking for. It's tactilely comfortable, typing with just enough click to be audible without being overly loud. Bought some cherry style caps on sale to shake things up a bit. It is not hot-swappable. So if you want to do something on the board, like B. the stabilizers, you will need to unsolder and remove the switch, but it is easy to remove the plate/PCB, bottom and controller with a little Phillips. I had to fiddle around with the function/macro keys a bit as it seemed cumbersome at first, but I also figured the Mac legends under the function keys were Windows shortcuts, so it was probably just a combination of user error. and misunderstandings (instructions are sufficient, but useful at best). My only real criticism is that I haven't noticed how much I use the home and end keys in terminals, and this keyboard doesn't have them. There may be a keyboard shortcut for this, but I haven't found it yet.
