The straws are great! They are thick and strong and hold up very well in the dishwasher. And they are environmentally friendly. Anyway if you take better care of her than me lol. I've found that if you don't rotate them frequently, they get moldy. So I would recommend "shake out" the excess water left inside and put it in a drawer. We lost a few straws (all our fault. We keep ours in a closed drawer and continue to use the top straws. Our bottom straws can sometimes sit unused for weeks). I can promise we wouldn't have a mold problem if I had space to store them upright or if I let them dry before putting them away.
