I have a lot of Makita 18v brushless tools so this seemed like a good choice when I was looking for a decent radio/bluetooth speaker for my shop at home. After all, Makita has always been synonymous with quality. The first ones I bought from Revain turned out to be faulty: the watch didn't tell the time. I mean not even close. It would be fine for a few days; then, one day, boom, it's for a few hours. buffer battery tested; all is well. In addition, we had no power outages during this time. In other words, the watch sucked. The strange thing is that it always showed the right day. So I called Makita customer service and the best they could offer me was a $40 refund. I sent the defective radio back to Revain (which I should have done first) and bought a second one. A week later, the same problem appeared: the clock does not work. I put a piece of blue tape over the display so I wouldn't be confused by the wrong time reading, and I still rely on the old analogue clock on my shop wall. The rest of the block is fine. The sound is a bit bass-heavy, but I can deal with that. The Bluetooth connection was reliable and easy to set up. Maybe I was unlucky and got two lemons in a row, but I wouldn't recommend this device to anyone (and I'm a HUGE Makita fan).
