As a first-time smoker, you have a lot less stress with this thermometer. With four sensors, I was able to stick three into the meat to get readings in multiple places and another just sitting in the smoker to get the exact ambient temperature inside the smoker. The app is very easy to use and works surprisingly well. You can set alarms when the temperature is out of the set range or when the temperature reaches a certain range (this will trigger an alarm on the device itself as well as on the phone on which the application is installed). The range seems pretty good - I'm not sure if it's exactly 328 feet, but it worked a good hundred (maybe two hundred) feet through a wall or two). If the phone loses connection with the thermometer, an alarm will also sound. The readings from the sensors seem pretty accurate - I've compared it to another meat thermometer as well as an OXO thermometer. The readings were within a few degrees. I also tested this by placing the probes in the oven and the temperature at the probe was within a few degrees of the oven's set temperature. All in all it was a good thermometer and I would recommend it.
