Beautiful, but uncomfortable for the touch

These coasters are so beautiful and absorbent. Guests comment on them and they look so good in any room. One complaint is that when they arrived I couldn't bear to touch them - I'm a bit weird and can't stand the feel of newspaper, crumbly flatbread or things drying on my fingertips and that was the worst first thing. I smothered them with lotion hoping this would help and I think it might be but I can't tell for sure if I'm just crazy? No matter what, I can now touch them without flinching and I really like the way they look.
