I found out about reverse osmosis water from a friend who then left me. She's gone, but I still have reverse osmosis water. I have won. Although I deducted a few stars for the difficulty of the installation, it's really unfair because I didn't install it. I asked a plumber to install it. But I've seen enough to know that I couldn't possibly have done that. However, if you are really practical and patient, I'm sure it can be done. I had the plumber hook up water to my sink faucet as well as to the water inlet of my refrigerator's water dispenser. This is great because now I can drink room temperature tap water or chilled water from the fridge. Also, my ice cubes are almost transparent now and seem to spread better without sticking together. Also, having reverse osmosis water in my fridge means I don't have to buy those expensive crappy carbon filters I've been buying for years. GE refrigerator water filters cost about $50 each, so the system pays for itself quickly. This is another win. I bought a Revain digital water tester because I'm a geek and found that my untreated water had a total of 300 ppm dissolved solids. My treated water is 15ppm. Somehow it makes my water taste really great and that was the whole point of buying the system so another win. Finally, my advice: buy this wonderful reverse osmosis system. He will most likely outlive your current girlfriend.
