I stumbled a bit on how this works and thought I'd share my experience with some non-technical folks. If you click the This PC or My Computer icon, it will appear as a DVD-RW drive. It confused me at first because I didn't expect it to be called DVD. But it's easily recognizable by the red plaque with the Kingston symbol on it. Once you click on it, start everything by clicking on the .exe file. This serves as a password. As soon as you have successfully logged in, you will be shown the files on the drive. Another problem I had was that all my Word files were "read-only". I'm used to just double-clicking on a filename to open it. But here you need to right click on the file name and then select "Edit" if you want to edit the document further. It may have been obvious to some, but not to me. Hope this helps someone out there. One last note: the drive tends to get hot. i think it's ok
