I have had this installed for about a month and so far we are in love. We have a Salt Water generator (chlorine) in a large above ground pool and have been happy with it for years, once we just bought our first hot tub (440 gallons) I knew we had to get one for it. So far we have it set on level 7 and it keeps our chlorine level around 3ppm and we almost never have to add any bleach/chlorine unless our whole family goes in or we sit in it for an extended time, then I usually only add about 2-3 ounces. It is so nice not having to check the chlorine level every morning. You could go with a bromine system for less maintenance than the daily addition of chlorine but I never have liked the smell of bromine and it is more expensive than chlorine.I would definitely check out some guides from online pool/spa forums on spa chlorine usage, they really recommend using Dihlor for a couple days to bring up the CYA level to 20-30 ppm to tame the harshness of chlorine a bit, from my experience with a pool and operating a lot of pools in a previous job it is excellent advice.
