Review on FARBIN Waterproof Air Horn 12V Car Horn Loud Dual-Tone Electric Snail Horn Kit With Relay Harness For Truck Train Motorcycle (Black Horn With Harness) by Patrick Hilzer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works perfectly! Requires: Some knowledge of relays

Test person says this horn works great. When I got the car the horn didn't work. I bought this kit with the Farbin knob because I knew I was going to bypass the stock horn wiring (because it didn't work). If you are ADDING a horn you will need to follow the same wiring diagram I have outlined below. First, it would be much quicker if I made myself a shifter and changed the wiring harness before mounting the horns on the car. Instead, I struggled a bit, trying to make out the tiny letters and arrows in the documents provided. Here's what I recommend (*if you BYPASS the standard wiring or ADD a horn where it didn't exist before): Wiring: Red half-circle (with built-in fuse): 12V HOT install) Black half-circle: Ground Yellow Spade jack x2: one goes to a scoop on each horn (as shown in documents/pictures) White connector: ground **If connected to a COLORIN button, this white wire must be connected to ground Blue connector connector: to one of the two wires coming out of the button which one) Another button wire: 12V HOT (I went to the battery post for easier installation, but you could go to a permanently hot fuse if you wanted to) The white wire was the one I cut off the end, ran BACK through the harness and secured it with a semicircular end to the same ground as the black wire. To do this setup this way, I needed a couple of wire terminations that I already had on hand, YMMV. I recommend doing this step BEFORE installing the horns on the car as it would be much easier to disconnect them once they have been removed from the car and connect them to the existing black ground in the wiring harness while they are on the bench and were not turned on the car. This setup wasn't as easy as it seemed for my application, but I knew I was in. To be honest there should be another built in fuse in the switch line going to the battery and I think I'll add one to protect the circuit as another reviewer mentioned some issues with the relay blowing.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Hard to tell
