We recently decided to clean up our AV closet under the stairs in the basement. This closet houses the home theater receiver, among other things, and the old banana plugs I've had for the last ten years work, but sometimes it feels like a few pieces are falling apart. I really like the design of these plugs - just remove them. bare wire, twist the strands together, insert the strand end into the plug and ensure that the screws make good contact. This is much easier than bending stranded wire over a piece of connector, which was necessary with my old connectors. The tips of these new plugs looked big, but I figured everything would be fine. Unfortunately this did not happen. The brackets on my Pioneer Elite receiver could not accommodate the ends of these wires - the wires were too big. I really didn't want to go through the hassle of using 9 speaker wire end caps so I used my old wires with the receiver. However, I was able to use them in speaker terminals, resulting in more secure connections there. I would buy them again anytime if I knew I had the option to return them for free if they turned out to be too big for the gear I used them with.
