When assembled the overall length is OK for me (5'10") to rake without having to stoop over. The actual "rake" part is made of a decently stiff metal which, unlike rakes with flexible tines, should scoop better. The rake has coarse and adequately made male threads, and made in such a way that you can take, for example, a Crescent wrench and . theoretically. attach it firmly to the end of the telescoping pole.That's the good news. The pole is made of rather lightweight (and not very stiff) aluminum. On the first rake we ordered there were NO FEMALE THREADS CUT IN THE END where the rake screws in. Returned for replacement.The replacement was threaded for the rake part, but the threaded part is made of such soft metal that if you screw the rake all the way in it will keep turning and turning. not tightening as it should. I put some thread-lock on the rake end and screwed it in. Will see if that does the trick. More likely I'll simply have to slop a bunch of epoxy over the threads, screw it in as tightly as possible, and hope it works. Overall not worth my time and effort to return again so I'd ask for a refund if epoxy doesn't work. I would NOT RECOMMEND purchasing this product.
