If you love building models or are an avid puzzle fan then this set should definitely be on your wish list! Tip: Pay extra for the LED version of the kit. I promise you, you'll be glad you did. LED lights really "pop" this model. All my friends and family want to know which store I bought this from so they can get one! When I told them to put it together the looks on their faces were priceless - lol I really enjoyed building this set! The instructions are clear and concise, leaving no doubt as to which part goes where. Although the instructions say no glue is needed, how I did this build if I had to do it all over again I would have a tube of glue (not superglue!) on hand. While the various pre-cut pieces fit together nicely, it's still just foam-backed paper, and a little glue along the many joints and seams makes this model rock solid! The total assembly time was about 8 hours, which is probably due to both finding the right part and pulling it out of one of the 10 pre-cut sheets, and simply taking my time and enjoying the process. I took my time and did the setup over several evenings, which I found very relaxing and cathartic. :) Even without the use of glue, this model still seems pretty solid and solid. I was blown away by how good the finished ship looked, especially with the LEDs and the ominous red light in the background. This ship is a model of Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge, but honestly I think it looks a lot more like the Black Pearl from Pirates of the Caribbean. (see photo) I would recommend this set to anyone looking for a way to spend some fun evenings building a beautiful ship that will look amazing anywhere. Second tip: While I think even a beginner can handle this kit well, it probably takes some modeling experience to appreciate it properly.
