Each of these mat pieces is approximately 12.19 inches long based on the blockage. That's great, but unfortunately these features overlap, meaning when creating a 2x2 grid they're 23.5 inches instead of 24 inches. This might seem a bit of a nitpick, but it does matter if they're going to be used as grid elements - the problem only gets worse the more you stack them. So they're not really 12 square feet, but maybe they are if you count the curbs. There are other interconnected mats that allow for blocking overlaps and are really proper stitches. It's not the only problem I have. Otherwise, they're about 1/2 inch thick at their thickest point, water resistant, easy to clean, and fit snugly on feet. I expect to benefit from this, but since each company seems to follow their own rules for making these items, it's difficult to mix brands. I have included pictures showing the dimensions of the interlocking teeth. I recommend them, but I hope my observations will help you get exactly what you expect from the purchase.
