First of all, a VERY small container. This is travel size. It does NOT contain enough sand to exfoliate. Grayish translucent gel with a few grains of pumice (I think). The smell is purely chemical, but not sharp. But I could do it in my kitchen. Better stay with St. Ives if you really want to SEE AND FEEL the difference. At least add some white cosmetic sand, sugar or whatever! The gel was a bad remedy. I wish you success. As for me, I will wait for a refund.
