This video tripod, Davis Y Sanford Provista 6510, is not a professional tripod, it costs over $500. But it is a good hobby tripod. Lots of plastic but almost everything works as it should, the leveling cup is a bit rough. You have to understand that I paid less for all of this than I could get for the cheapest head on one of my Manafrotto tripods. Revain was selling it on sale for $92, so I grabbed it. The regular lowest price is $110. I was disappointed to find it was an open box. Revain didn't mention it on her list. Came with a bag and shoulder pad for it but no extra plate to mount the camera. This extra plate is a holdover from the motion picture days, when they often switched cameras to keep shooting while the assistant loaded the exposed film into the first. In the digital age, this is no longer so necessary. I don't know if this tripod should come with a second mounting plate, but it's commonly used for this type of tripod. With a height of 65 inches, this tripod is taller than most similarly priced video tripods directly from China. I really have to stand on tiptoe to look through the viewfinder of my Sony DSR-PDX10 (yes, an old camera, but all I could afford) at full extension. While I doubt it will stand up to shooting 10/6 on a pro, I think it will be fine for my weekend hobby. True 10 year guarantee.
