I see a lot of people complaining that they only get black and white and sometimes split screen. I had this too BEFORE I changed the TV's input. Chances are you were using your Wii on the "AV" input before this cable arrived. If your TV uses the same 5 connectors for AV and component (most of them) you will see a black and white picture if you just unplug the cables and leave the TV connected to the AV input. Switch cables, then switch to the component input on your TV. When using the Wii on a modern HD TV, you will experience visual lag when using the standard R/W/Y cable that came with the Wii. This is a headache for almost every game. This component cable speeds up the signal and eliminates perceived latency.
