It's amazing. During my initial sketch of my back, we discovered that I had a very sensitive area on my upper back, so I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to add color to that area. My tattoo artist recommended this product to me and I was very curious to see if the painkiller would actually work. With the help of this tool I was able to successfully cope with masking and coloring the upper back. I will say that how long the painkiller lasts is individual for each person. I applied this 1 1/2 hours before the tattoo, it took 1 hour. I also used the Derma Numb Spray during the session which allowed me to get through the tattoo with little to no pain. You'll still have pain here and there, especially if you have color overlays, but this reduces the intensity of the pain points.
