My son and I like to go camping and teaching him how to navigate is a fun activity for him. Of course compass accuracy is important to avoid getting lost, but being around and observing works well enough to teach him the basics. Yes, I understand that I first talked about the compass for checking the jacket. The jacket itself fits my 6 year old a little better but that means he can still wear it next year.
