Quiet, powerful suction much less than I thought (see below), good filtering. Everything is very solid - the hose fittings and swivel, the material of the hose itself, the quality of the hoses and fasteners - everything is excellent as you can expect from Miele. The power button is on the canister, which isn't that convenient, but I knew you could type that without taking points away. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the heads are not as flexible as other cleaners that are much cheaper (I would give 4.5 stars if I could as 1 star is a bit harsh but hey it is an expensive product). Go under beds and sofas, into tight corners - they don't articulate well to lay flat or get into tight spots. The small (5 inch wide) head is also angled which puts the tube at a fairly steep angle and in some situations just doesn't make a good vacuum connection to the surface being cleaned. went back and forth between this and the next size which didn't cost much more money but opted for the smaller one as we have a couple of stairs and I thought the larger would be more inconvenient and also more difficult to clean the stairs themselves. Me was very surprised when i received the box how compact it really is. I compared the dimensions to our previous compact Dirt Devil and thought it was a little bigger, but they're almost the same size. So it's nice and easy to move and easy to carry around. The downside is that the bag is very small. We have mostly bare wood floors but we have carpets and in particular new carpet and the bag fills up in just 1 or 2 runs. But they have a fixed, fairly large plastic hanger, which is bad from a recycling perspective. On the plus side, the pneumatic (not electric) impact head is very efficient, much more efficient than the Dirt Devil. which is easy to confuse. We have a short haired dog but she sheds and picks up hair very well.
