I can't express how excited I am that someone has finally developed a smart fitness watch for people with small wrists! I've worn Fitbit smartwatches for years, but I've always been annoyed at how clunky they look on my hand. See image for Fitbit Sense vs Garmin Lily comparison. enough said. So when it came time for a change, I just had to try Lily! And I'm so glad I did. I just love it. Here's my short list of pros and cons after a few weeks of wearing: Pros: - GORGEOUS. I can't stop looking at the beautiful pattern on the lens. I feel like I'm wearing a work of art on my wrist! - So easy. I didn't realize how heavy my old fitness watch (Fitbit Sense) was until I put Lily on! I was amazed at how light they are. The smartwatch has everything I need: it can wake me up with an alarm in the morning, send text/call notifications, track fitness activities and much more. Garmin has a great app. which provides very detailed information at no additional cost to the user (unlike Fitbit where you need a monthly subscription to use all the features offered by Sense). The tracking results from Garmin are significantly more extensive, especially the fitness tracking hits Fitbit. For example, Garmin allows you to track specific movements. You can tell if you deadlifted, squatted or legraised and how many reps you did each - the list of options is huge. It will even automatically tell you which muscle groups you've worked with strength training. Eventually the exercise recognition figured out that I was doing push ups and jumps without me realizing it which was awesome! Cons: - Lily has a silent (vibrating) alarm and when you press the snooze button it goes off again. 10 minutes later. When it rings again, it shows the original time of the alarm, not the actual time (e.g. if the alarm goes off at 6am and I hit the snooze button, it still shows "6am" despite the actual time on when it rings again ). 6:10).- Since the screen is small (which I like), it means sometimes notifications for texts are partially obscured by the delete or reply options. So you have to guess what these words are. - Does not sync with Do Not Disturb phone or mute settings. When my phone is in DnD or Silent mode, I have to set the watch to DnD/Silent separately, otherwise it still vibrates when my phone gets notifications. - And the vibration is STRONG. It's quite noticeable in a quiet room, so if your phone explodes while you're in a meeting, it's a little awkward. I'm also not sure how good the real vibration is... Sometimes I feel like I'm hearing more than I'm feeling. Here it is! Fitbit Sense fixes all of these shortcomings (updating wake-up time after snoozing, more screen real estate to read notifications, syncing with Do Not Disturb/Mute settings, more subtle vibrations). Fitbit is also better at tracking sleep, and you can use Fitbit Sense to make phone calls and send custom replies to text messages via voice (Lily doesn't have a microphone, so she can only send a few standard messages). text responses). But despite all that, I'm glad I switched from Sense to Lily. The pros are so good - they easily outweigh any cons, at least for me. Going forward, I'll stick with Garmin's smaller line of watches!
