A Schrader valve core remover is easy to find, but a Presta valve core remover is much harder to find. This one does the job very well, providing a large enough area to apply leverage to tighten or loosen the valve core and holds the core well. Without such a thing, you can use pliers, but that's a surefire way to get damaged threads, and there's never enough room for them to work properly. This is the only way to fly after removable Presta cores.
