Assembly was easy except connecting the pieces of wood. Holes for screw hooks have already been made and I'm sure anyone can do it. Adjusting the knots for the rings required some finesse. It took me a few hits to get the perfect lift to hook the ring. I'm surprised at how much time my kids spent playing the game (considering it doesn't have a screen or buttons), we were actually able to use it as a drinking game. Like all drunk games. You have to warm up before you feel better, and then it gets awful again.
