I have a strong belief that basic sewing skills are important for everyone--even if it's just for button repair--and this kit helps teach the skill in a fun way. The crafts made are cute for making by even some adults--I had a few who eyeballed the doughnut as too cute to miss. This is a fine kit for helping kids acquire some sewing skills with interesting and on trend crafts that are fun to make and own when they are done. There's enough supplies in the kit for most of the crafts to be completed with what is supplied but there are recommendations for other crafts and additions that may challenge your household supplies, like upcycling a shirt and fabric markers. But it is a good kit and recommended for both the skills taught and the entertainment provided. I would recommend for adept 7 year olds and most likely up the age skill a little more. This definitely teaches more sewing skills than the sewing cards and other crafts I started with although those are good to start with for the younger folks and then graduate them to a this kit or one like it.
