I was willing to give iSteady X 5 stars and an absolute positive recommendation. It works great in all gimbal modes and is a real winner. But I have a serious problem with recording videos. I have a Motorola Moto G7 Optimo Maxx smartphone. It's also a great performer. But I bought it and a stabilizer to shoot 4K video. The phone records 4K itself, but when paired with a gimbal and using the Hohem Pro app, it only records 1280x720 video regardless of where the video settings are set, both on the phone and in the app on When I close the Hohem app and open the phone's own camera app, it records 4K video on the gimbal. It does a pretty good job with the phone's native app and performs the basic functions of a stabilizer. But I can't change gimbal modes and some controls don't work. I have to touch the photo/video selection on the screen and touch the screen to trigger the shutter and start/stop the video. If I need to change the gimbal mode I have to open the Hohem app and do that and then go back to the phone's camera app. I just downloaded a firmware update for the gimbal and I don't know how it affected this issue. Maybe Hohem will fix this 4K problem in another firmware? I wonder how many other smartphone models can have this incompatibility.
