This clock is on my desk. The picture is correct. It's not a whisper. You can hear the gears turning, not only the plastic click as the numbers turn, but also the mechanism that tells the time. At the very top of the clock is a bar that holds the pins that hold the numbers in place. Well, she's a little bent. Not sure if I should move it as it could damage the watch but if you are a perfectionist this is not the watch for you. If you want one and the price is right, then it's not bad. Note: Uses a D-type battery. Yes D! Crazy.Update 10/18/13 The watch was just doing its job on my desk and one of the lugs fell out for no reason. He collapsed. One of the fins to the left of this tab, which is part of :36 and :35. I haven't touched it or broken it and it's not a big deal, I mean it looks stupid for a minute. It continued to work even after losing that tab. Take your time. But it still looks great. it can't last forever after all its flimsy plastic and tension over time. So I'm deducting a star from the rating. Update 01/23/15 Last week another half of the issue got lost. However, it still runs on its first battery. Update from 08/06/17 lost 2 half numbers today. All numbers lost so far have been tabs with minute numbers. (still on the first battery)
