I knew it was a 50/50 chance to buy. I am a groomer and most of my shears are 7-9 inches. In the attached photos my 7 inch thinning scissors are on the right and my straight 8 inch scissors are on the left. As you can see, this is poor design and could easily have been avoided. This design flaw makes it impossible to zip this thing up - my little pair of scissors will dangle. Also, the leather straps that hold the thickest part of the scissors are too tight so I can't insert my 8 inch Easter scissors at all. This probably works well for barbers with very small, thin scissors. I would not go to a dog groomer
