Review on πŸ”ͺ Oceanstar Bamboo Knife Organizer: Space-Saving In-Drawer Storage Solution for Knives, 17 L x 6.12 W x 2.25 H inches, Natural Finish by Carrie Spencer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Beautifully and with modification, two knives fit in a 10 " drawer!

I used two 6" knife blocks for my 10" kitchen drawer and my husband shortened one of them to 3 3/4" to make a 10" wide knife block . Taking helpful advice from another reviewer, I had my husband cut two crossbars at the two large knife slots so the handles of my large chef's knives rest on the block and the blades hang freely. He used a handyman's saw with a thin blade to cut The crossbars. The block is durable enough that cutting these crossbars won't damage it. My husband cut the second knife block whole with a thin blade table saw so I had a small block with 2 large knife slots. I put this block in another drawer next to the toaster to hold the bread knives. A word of caution: you need to make sure your large blades and even smaller knives fit properly in the low handle slots to clear the drawer frame. You can close the drawer with the handle up, but the handle will move down briefly, the handle will spring back up and hit the top of the drawer frame the next time the drawer is pulled out, creating an effective stop. . I did this the first time I loaded a 6 inch block. Luckily, I was able to reach under the jammed box and lower the knife, but not without cutting my hand with another knife. Everyone who works in my kitchen gets a knife. Drawer instructions now available My husband loves the order in the new drawer, he was afraid of cutting his hand on the very sharp new knives.
