The crown is made of hard, durable plastic, but a translucent plastic headband has been screwed onto it. The crown was too heavy for my 5 year old. We had to make adjustments. We used an elastic band I bought at Walmart to hold it on my head. My daughter can wear it as a headband, even then it will eventually fall off her head. She has to keep her head steady so it stays in place. The decoration looks very beautiful, but as someone said earlier in the reviews, it is better to stick it on the dress with hot glue or use a safety pin to attach it to the dress. Luckily the dress I bought already had a blue bead on it. Good quality gloves, my 5 year old's fingers are about half an inch longer but that's ok. Overall I'd say things are of good quality but you have to make any adjustments. This is a good product if you are good at customization. The performance of this product sucks.
