I used this thread to tie a string of beads. Not all silk threads are created equal, a fact I discovered after tying about half the beads into the necklace. The strand I originally chose ended up with the strands breaking out of the knot of the strand and fuzzy ends sticking out around each bead. This thread is strong and I haven't had a single strand break. All silk threads are elastic and must be stretched before use if the thread is to support weight like a necklace. I soaked the length of string I used to create the beads in warm water, then attached bulldog clips to each end and hung from a shower rod. I added a couple of bulldog clamps to each end clamp to make the weight even on both ends but also quite substantial. Hanging thread for 5 days. I found no stretch in the project when I was working on it. With this size of thread, I could use French bars around each end of the clasp and double the working thread, tying knots between each bead that didn't slip through the bead's hole, and also weren't so big that they were annoyingly chunky.
