I found this to be a great little tool for removing hair loss on my cat. Their fur is of medium length, like that of a black tabby cat. This remedy is designed to remove the undercoat before it sheds. I didn't know that cats have two coats and that the fur falls off under the undercoat and not under the top layer of the cat's fur. Our cat loves being cleaned with this tool. Because the teeth are very short, the tool doesn't pick up a lot of hair. before they start flying. For this reason, this task is performed outdoors whenever possible; it can be pretty messy. To be honest I didn't notice much of a difference when using this tool compared to using a longer denture brush. However, your topcoat will look a little less "fluffy" afterwards which could be a sign of hair growing out of the undercoat, which I now understand is not common as you don't want to overdo it and damage your pet's topcoat .
