Overall a good scanner. Price and functionality are unbeatable. I'm a Mac user (MacOS 10.13.6), I've had a hard time identifying the 3 software needed for everything this scanner can do. This device can scan regular 8.5" x 11" documents, receipts (big plus!) and LONG receipts. (longer than 14 inches). However, these three different types of things require three different types of software. 1. Image Capture 2. BR Receipts 3. Brother Iprint&Scan. THREE DIFFERENT SOFTWARE. It can recognize the fields within the receipt, mainly for large deals. Small local store receipts require manual data entry. To access the OCR feature of the Brother ADS 1200 scanner you need to use the IPrint and Scan software and save the PDF as a searchable PDF with OCR enabled. After using the Brother customer support chat, they helped me find and download the Brother IPrint and Scan software. However, it does NOT automatically connect to Brother Receipt, I had to save the JPG and then import the JPG into Brother Receipt. I would like it to be more streamlined and the whole process treated as one. I have yet to get used to OCR software. Once you figure it out, this car will be good. I was amazed at how tiny it is. I installed it on my Mac and it's even smaller than my laptop in width. I am satisfied with the regular Scanner + Check function.
