hard texture; Feels like yarn

I don't know what the spinner did to this 100% cotton yarn to make it stiff and unattractive. The colors are beautiful. However, one skein had a dyeing problem that resulted in stains rather than streaks. After knitting, my kitchen towels look and feel good. This stiff yarn is less fun to knit than the old Sugar 'n Cream I have in my stash.
