1. Attaching armrests is NOT required. None of the existing reviews addressed this. I don't currently have any arms attached so it will fit under my desk more easily. The support is not lost. The strength isn't lost, especially if you buy the graphite version. If you're over 375 pounds, you may need arms for structural integrity (since they're designed to add strength), although that's more than enough for the average person without arms. The chair gets 4 stars instead of 5 because it really needs to be 2 inches wider. Other reviewers have mentioned this and it is true. I'm 6'5" tall and 225 pounds. I'm not fat, but I just fit snugly in a chair. But even if you were heavier, most of your weight would still be on the elastic cords, and I would expect it to be comfortable the chair is comfortable for me but then again I don't have armrests 3 bungee cords are very tight I'm low maintenance and there's a lot more free space I could probably double the weight and... still not stretching the cables to their full potential 4. I don't feel like I'm sitting on strings Looser with no armrests attached Tightening the screws solved it but going every 2 months isn't optimal As I have a different table , I have decided to attach my arms and I don't feel as tight as my arms did when I tried it the first time.I still think this chair has 4 stars but maybe 4.5 if I could.You can the armrests Install it upside down so the screw you normally put in the sea doesn't go in your back (and vice versa). This essentially gives you a chair with no armrests but maintains maximum structural integrity. When the arms are inverted, they are level with the bungee. This is perfect if one of your legs is slightly apart and dangling from the bungee more than usual. This is a convenient option for the lower tables.
