Review on Enhanced PLL Digital Tuning AM/FM Pocket Radio and Alarm Clock with Integrated Hi-Fi Speakers by Carolina

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Small is beautiful the best of compact radios and stereos

I bought two of these because I wanted my daughters (10 and 11 years old) to be able to listen to the radio without having to plug in headphones all the time. (I hate when people are plugged into iPods, MP3 players, cell phones, etc.) The radio has a neck strap so my daughters can be a little fashionable by wearing an electronic device as an accessory. For a 1" speaker, the sound is pretty good. If you still manage to plug in headphones, the sound is great and in stereo. We've had excellent reliability with radios. Two AAA batteries last a long time. The clock and alarm work good, as is the digital setting. Cool little radios for little money! [Note: This radio also comes in an orange version.] OTHER OPTIONS: Sony ICF-S10MK2 AM/FM pocket radio with analog tuning (~$10) or a larger and better-sounding Sony ICF38 portable AM/FM radio (about $20) that runs from a built-in power cord (or batteries).
