I'm 5" and this backpack is perfect for me. Most backpacks hang so low that they rest (and therefore dangle) on my bum even with the shoulder straps fully adjusted, but this one doesn't, it sits nice and high and the sternum strap keeps it in place without tying the contents down move ( and center of balance). My husband and I go hiking weekly and I take this backpack with me. It's perfect for a day trip to pack 10 essentials, some lunch and a dry bag with my camera, phone and keys, but if I was careful with the packaging I could probably use it as a quick holdall too. It's quite roomy and has four securely lockable compartments, making it easy to organize my stuff. The hinges on the outside are strong and useful. It's so comfortable I completely forget it's there when I put it on. At first I thought it was a little pricey but now I realize it was worth every penny.
