As a Chevrolet, Porsche and Toyota owner I was looking for something that could work with all three. I wanted to do normal maintenance like resetting the service lights and reading codes for accidental repairs. While researching, I came across the iCarsoft CR Pro and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. I could read the condition of the engine, transmission and body without any problems. ABS, active suspension, steering wheel sensors, door locks, transmission sensors, HVAC temp sensors, pretty much everything I tried to find, not only was I able to read real-time data, I was able to check and reset it. Capturing codes is also easy. Data can be easily saved to a microSD card for later use. A really fantastic tool for the money. The code search is pretty accurate given the variety of cars I have. In general, I am very satisfied with the device. I was surprised that the tool doesn't have a battery. Most readers use small 9V or more AA batteries to power them. This uses an external power supply via a USB cable. That means you plug the OBD cable into the vehicle and then the mini USB cable into the tool and then plug it somewhere to provide power. My Toyota didn't have a USB port to plug into. They can be powered with an adapter from a 12V cigarette lighter socket, or you can use a USB portable battery. I've decided to go with a portable battery pack and have had no issues with it.
