Review on πŸš— Enhance Your Driving Experience with XTR8 Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver and Car Kit by Valerie Alicea

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's not a Rolls, but neither is the price.

The radio itself is fine. I doubt there is anything better in this price range. Setup is very easy - I didn't even open the manual. The antenna is mounted on the back window of the car and I get a strong signal even on cloudy and rainy days here in western Massachusetts. The XTR8 is on the far right (passenger side). end of the dashboard, and the car radio antenna is mounted at the extreme rear end of the roof. FM modulator - 107.9 (nearest audible transmit signal - 106.9). Absolutely no problems with static or interference, but I imagine it could be more of a problem in a large urban area with lots of FM radio. The mounts are fine except for the suction cups for the windshield mount which are totally useless. But it's easy enough to install elsewhere with an adhesive disc or Velcro. Both car and housekeeping are just plug-in mounts which means every time you move them from car to house you have to disconnect and reconnect all the cables etc. Even at this price level this is an unforgivable design flaw. To use a car metaphor, I got a Toyota for the price of a Yugo, so I'm happy. Those expecting Rolls should look elsewhere and be prepared to pay accordingly. PS Would give 5 stars based on the value of the radio itself, but the seamless mount design was too stupid to ignore.
