Looks good but I can't remove the bottom screen for a deep clean

Used a few times One thing I notice is that unlike my old French Bodum press, these don't give the coffee that nice beige "Film" that I used to put on coffee. I liked that aspect of my Bodum press. However, for some reason I don't get it with this one. It looks attractive especially if you are serving coffee for a company. It looks almost the same as a good restaurant compared to someone pouring coffee from a glass French Press. If (like me) you want to fully clean/flush it after each use, you may be disappointed. My net floor is screwed on so tightly that I just can't get it off. So what's the point of giving me an extra screen for the future if I can't even turn off the current screen? However, the real source of the problem is that the handle, which is at the very top outside of the bin, supports the internal mechanism of this press, including the mesh screen at the bottom. This top handle is NOT fixed. For some strange reason it "swirls". And it happens that this top handle unscrews VERY easily on my press. So when the time comes that I want to try to clean and remove the bottom screen, I have nothing to hold on to while trying to reverse the threads. I (of course) hold on to the knob handle to try to create a "reverse force" to untie the threads on the bottom screen, but of course the top handle opens up every time I try, and breaks the threads. Why? Why did they design this so that this top handle is removable? It makes no sense. So now I can't erase the bottom mesh as there is nothing "solid" to hold on to while trying to erase the bottom mesh!

Pros

Cons
