I have been using oreck commercial vacuums for over a decade and they used to be the best. Now I buy replacement vacuums every few months! All steel has been replaced with pure aluminum that bends and breaks. I've replaced countless grips and new needles only last about a month before chipping and breaking. The extra handle mount they send you to prevent this doesn't help at all. Now the hose that catches the dirt bends at the joint and moves into the space where it falls into the bag. Now it closes half of the entrance. This is the latest issue on my last Oreck purchase and it's only been 6 months! I think that's what I should expect as the Oreck was sold to another company. Everything cheaper! The collecting bristles on the side flattened out after 2 weeks of use, the shank of the handle comes loose at the seams, the bottom screw of the handle doesn't even tighten when a new box is opened. it just falls out, the collection tube kinks at the joint, clogging the bag and twisting the entire handle. The spring that holds the bottom of the bag doesn't hold because of the cheap spring. These vacuum cleaners have become a nightmare!
