Smells. because you see it's liquid latex. There's ammonia in there. I've never found one that doesn't smell. However, the smell is not bad and since I use it for nail art, it is ok. If you are thinking of using this nail art product, this is perfect. It's similar to what they use in the videos to put a mask around the nail and take it off so you don't have to remove the nail polish from your fingers. It's cheaper than the liquid palisade they use too! It is NOT colored and becomes transparent after drying which is not a big deal to me as you can easily feel where the latex is and clean it. The 1 ounce bottle has a brush in the cap. so also in relation to the application perfect.
