I was frustrated with electric clippers

I returned mine. I originally chose this slicer because other reviewers reported good customer service. KWS was very quick to respond and I received my refund quickly. KWS stocks spare parts in the USA – another plus. I got a broken one and they offered to replace it. The general level of quality was below normal. There were a few issues so I was worried it might take another try or two to get a good one. After evaluating it, I decided that getting one that worked out of the box was more important, so I decided to replace it with another brand. The biggest problem was that the support arm wobbled up and down - and back and forth. When I first inspected it, it seemed fine, but found that the product tray hits the blade or gauge plate during use. I greased and tightened the interface but it still hit in both places. Another problem was that the slide and handle, which are supposed to move back and forth, didn't move smoothly. I figured I could probably fix it with some food grade lube. It might not be a big deal, but the 9-inch slicer that replaced this one worked perfectly and came with a small bottle of food-grade lube. Nice. It's not easy to clean. It doesn't appear to be designed for cleaning. The blade must be removed. Blade attachment - cross head. This is normal, but socket head screws work better. The Phillips screws were easy to loosen, but other reviewers had issues. Phillips sockets are much easier to remove. Other problems were cosmetic. I probably wouldn't return it just for cosmetic issues, but there were a few. The worst blemish was on the stop plate, the surface that the meat slides on in front of the blade. It was large (about 1" x 1") and looked like it happened before the device was assembled. There were several damages in the same area. It turned out that the damage was due to handling and storage prior to assembly. It could be more than just cosmetic and noticeable during use. There was a dent on the blade cover that was only visible when removed. All these problems are easy to spot upon examination. The damage to the measuring plate was visible from a distance of 10 feet. The 9 inch slicer I bought (from Revain) to replace this one was perfect when I got it. That was excellent. Everything worked smoothly out of the box.
