LOVE! I use them for sketching (brush tips) and they look amazing. If I were to paint with pencils, it would take me forever to get the effect those brush tips create instantly. Really great for adding shadows and depth and the colors are vibrant. Several colors stand out clearly. This is my new favorite material - I think I'll put my pencils down for a while and have some fun with it. They are NOT like traditional watercolor brushes - they are nowhere near as watery. The brush style is solid. The mascara doesn't spread, but the coverage is rich and oily. I would compare the results to really expensive colored pencils (except I don't think even expensive pencils can do that). However, these are definitely brushes. The effect is softer than pens or markers. I used to try to find pencils that would do just that. I wish I knew about them. They are far superior to my Prismacolors Premiers (I have a set of 150 for $100). This is amazing new stuff. It also seems to increase my skill. My work looks more professional than what I can do with pencil or pen. I think it's because the brush is more flexible and malleable, so it smooths out my strokes and eliminates judder. I feel a little more secure in what I can create. I did a quick test with a fine tip eyeliner with similar opacity results. They're not wet at all. but when I run the tip quickly across the page, it doesn't scratch or jump. I have no idea how long the ink refill will last.
