It does what it says. One drawback is that it always outputs a blue screen that says something like "no input" when that component isn't on. It confuses HDMI switches when it comes time to auto-switch. Sometimes you can overcome it if you put it on the last port of the switch. But sometimes they won't auto-switch if you turn on a component connected to a higher priority port. And Lord help you if you have two of these connected to the same HDMI switch.If there is no input, it should just shut off its output.
