Review on πŸš— MAXXT 3-Inch Dual Action Car Buffer Polisher: Small Car Detailing Machine for Polishing and Waxing – 9MM Orbital Variable Speed Polisher with 3 Foam Pads by John Campos

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A decent polisher that weighs too much

This polisher with the included polishing pads achieves a pretty decent polish. I used it to join the hood and fenders of an old truck and the results were very good. However, another less than desirable result was back and shoulder pain that was more severe than is usual with such work. The hood wasn't a problem as gravity worked in my favor, but the fenders force you to carry the entire weight of the car with your arms and back, which causes fatigue. I was really hoping a smaller bumper like this would be lighter but weighs 5.5 pounds. It weighs more than my much larger 6" double action fender. Fatigue is also relieved by the noisy brushed motor powering the tool. The trigger position is either on or off and you cannot modulate the speed at all. The only speed control is the rheostat and once it's set it's the RPM you get when you hit the switch. I prefer to gradually increase the speed so as not to spill the mass everywhere. The buffer does an acceptable job compared to others I have, but if the manufacturer changes the switch and puts this buffer on a diet, they might have a good tool that won't tire you out. Decibel toning would also be a big help.
