I love this thing! I have thin hair that looks flat and doesn't hold curls well. This curling iron adds volume and texture. I've tried crimping plates so far. I've only used the second temperature setting (160°C) on myself and it really holds up, the hair looks amazing after use. This device is a pair of tongs and a straightener in one, so it seems really useful. The plates slide and are removed. Styler, grooves on the bottom hold the plates in place, then just plug in and set the desired temperature with the knob inside. It heats up very quickly, even at the highest temperature. The extra volume at the roots of my hair allows me an extra day between washes because my hair doesn't cling to my scalp, I get a heat protectant spray because I use this thing a lot more than I expected. I suggest you don't have to stay on the hair for more than a second or two and don't press hard. (Squeeze in small sections) I think it just needs a little more practice.
