Based on the product image, we were surprised at how small the antenna actually is. The receiver has a magnetic base, apparently to mount it on roofs, but our van's roof isn't metal, so we just roof-mount it. Again we were surprised that the reception was comparable to an amplified RV roof antenna! It doesn't look like it will weather well if left outside indefinitely. We simply take the antenna outside when we watch TV and plug it in when not in use. I don't know how much caravan roof antennas cost but if ours breaks they are a great replacement. The antenna on the roof of a mobile home is sometimes difficult to lift. This little antenna saves you that hassle. Highly recommended.
