I climbed Mount Shasta a few weeks ago and needed a new balaclava as I gave the last one to one of our Kilimanjaro guides two years ago. I decided to try this product even though it was way cheaper than the well known brands. I wore it on my last 14 hour 6,000ft climb in very cold weather before sunrise and too much wind on the way down. It was perfect. Under a beanie and rock helmet it was just the right amount of wind and heat protection. Pulling the mouthpiece down was easy and never uncomfortable, and easy to get it back up to speed when the temperature and wind made the weather unbearable. It was risky to take them on a hike without verification, but it didn't let me down and I did. I'm glad I didn't spend much more on a famous brand. Rainier will come next year and he will be with me. Highly recommended.
