Review on Trigger.io by Aaron Ward

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very user friendly, great integration tools

I like how easy it is for me as an app developer who has experience with other platforms such as Phonegap or Xamarin Native Bridge using Cordova but not React Native or Angular 2 that this provides me all at once! The best thing about trigger.io is its flexibility in which you can use different languages (JavaScript / Typescript) so that users of your application don't have be familiarized to learn another language especially when developing large applications where performance matters. It's free up until 5K monthly spendings. Well worth trying out because there are things that will give you pause before continuing if they're going to cost too much per month than what you make. We created hybrid apps between Android/iOS devices without having two separate teams working independently which was one of our goals since we wanted to keep costs low. I love how easy it is for me to use as I'm not a developer. The UI is also very intuitive. It's quick and easy to get up and running with this SDK. Not much to dislike. I wish that there was an easier way to make my notifications more personalised rather than just sending out notifications to all of my followers or fans. I've been able to build a product in about 2 days using this tool.

Pros
  • Easy integration
  • Free platform, no limitations.
  • Flexible options available within same code base
  • JavaScript & TS support + Webpack+ ES6 modules exporting capability makes development simple while still allowing maximum control over dependencies
Cons
  • No real native push notification capabilities built into solution
