We've recently switched from carpet to hard floors and I bought these to keep everything in place. I have a small chair that is oddly light and a couple of small, light console tables. They don't affect them at all, they still slide like crazy. This is very frustrating. These cushions work really well on an adjustable bed frame, sofas, a solid wood coffee table and just about any other piece of furniture that is already quite heavy. I think the weight helps the pads "grab" the floor well and when nothing is pressing them to the floor they just slide like they're not there. I wish I knew this beforehand so I could order a smaller pack and find something else for light furniture, but oh well.
