I use this to make kombucha tea. I put four teaspoons of loose leaf tea in the bag, which is the recommended amount per half gallon of water (in addition to 1/2 cup of white sugar). If you need more tea, you should use more bags. Four teaspoons completely fill a rehydration pack. By limiting the amount per bag, the tea can be better distributed. The laces in the pockets are pretty flimsy, although you probably won't break them unless you're rougher on them than I am. I tighten them and then tie them halfway around the neck of the bag so they don't accidentally come loose, but they're still easy to undo when I'm ready to clean them. To clean, I turn them inside out and pour out most of the used tea and rinse the rest under running water. Sometimes I put them in the dishwasher, but if you do, make sure to secure them so they don't end up on the floor.
